    Parents and children have a special bond of love and affection. This bond can never be replaced by any other form of relationships, for as the saying goes,'blood is thicker than water'. Parenthood, like any other job requires dedication and sacrifice. So, what qualities should parents impart that would be considered good parenting?
   
    Parenthood is a natural consequence of marriage. Prospective parents should recognize their responsibilities and realize what parenthood involves. One of the essential qualities parents should have is the acceptance of the role of parenthood. The father may resent the child because it would be a rival for the attention of the mother and father, more so if the child is a baby boy. Mother, on the other hand, is put in a different class where her time is no longer her own. Household routine is changed as baby makes demands on her time. Both parents should be willing to make sacrifices, including their career and accept their responsibilities.

    Parents love their children and this is a universal truth. But, love should in no way or at any time be considered as synonymous with pampering and spoiling the children. They should instill in the children qualities which will help them face life with a sense of integrity and strength of character. These can be cultivated if the parents teach them positively.

    Parents should set good examples and provide the right atmosphere which is conductive to the growth of good character traits. A child learns good virtues and the influence of his parents counteract all other influence good or bad as like father like son.

    In general, good parenthood requires love and understanding. These two qualities can build a strong world of parent-child relationship. Love must be wholesome but not blind in that it does not ignore discipline and moral values. This love must provide security and confidence to the growing child to be a good thinking adult. Understanding means giving the child the opportunity to find out what he wants, the freedom to try new ideas and the support when the child meets with failure.

    Parents should be themselves and allow the children to grow up to be themselves too. Give support and encouragement wherever necessary but temper with love and understanding. Being a good parenting is in itself a growing process. Learn to love but love wisely.

第二：我们要多植树，去绿化环境，使空气变得更清新。春天是植树的季节，一家人去山上种棵树，多么有意义。

第三：出去吃饭，不用一次性筷子，因为一次性筷子的材料是树木，所以我们应该保护树木，尽量不用一次性用品。

第四：节约用纸，把一张草稿纸写满，不要只写几个字就扔掉了。

第五：买东西时，不用塑料方便袋，要自备手提袋，以减少白色污染。

我们作为地球的小公民，我们有责任，保护我们赖以生存的家园，保护环境，人人有责，我们只有一个地球，没有了地球，我们无处可去。相信只要努力，就可以让地球重新美丽！

"The lights went out suddenly..." Complete the story in 250 words

The lights went out suddenly, I was alone and worried last Friday. This is because lights is one of the most basic elements of our world and our universe as we perceived it. Then, I opened the door of my study room and I saw Max, my dog, lying very still on the ground. Max had been my pet for four years. It ran towards me and jumped for a lovely hugged. After a few minutes later, I ran down quickly to get me a flashlight under a drawer in the kitchen. I switched on, but unfortunate the flashlight was out of batter. Although the flashlight was broke but I can light up the candles. In desperation, I thought "Damn, how can the lights went out when you were good?" After that, with the quiet moonlight, I fumbled to the storeroom to turn out the only candle and then quickly lit it. In an instant, the candlelight filled the narrow space, and my fearful heart slowly disappeared without a trace under his selfless sway. Furthermore, this one and only candlelight given us warmth and created a harmonious atmosphere for both my dog and me. At this moment, I heard my neighbors gathered in their balconies to talk about the interruption of current. From the conversations of my neighbors, many people felt that the current interruption caused too much of troubles, it was very inconvenient. After two hours later, the current finally recovered. When the lights in the living room lighted up, I heard the bursts of cheers from my neighbors. Lastly, I realized the important of light in our daily life.
